Google Play Store app on your phone May not currently set to have unrestricted data access in the background. This doesn’t necessarily mean that downloads won’t be occurring in the background, but in some cases it can cause unexpected holdups.

Stop Auto-Updates and Pending Installations
The basic idea behind the download pending error is that Google prioritizes background updates and installations to more recent downloads. Clearly, to allow the download, the earlier processes must be stopped first. As soon as it’s done, you can get back to installing your intended app once again.
- First of all, open up the Google Play Store
- Locate the ‘hamburger’ icon on the top left. Tap on it.
- Then tap on ‘My apps & games’. This is a section where you can see all the apps for which an update is available. See if there is an app which is still in the process of ‘updating’. If you find anything as such then hit ‘STOP’ written inside a green box in CAPITAL letters. All the ongoing updates will stop.
- After that go on try to download the app which you want to. Most probably your download will begin.

- Find Google Play Store and tap on it.
