Many times Google Chrome users face weird text and fonts display problems. The text looks blurry, fuzzy or zoomed in on websites and in browser.
Fix Blurry Text and Font Display Problems in Google Chrome
METHOD 1: Reset DPI Scaling to 100% in Windows
If you are using a custom DPI scaling such as 125%, 150%, etc in your computer, it may cause blurry text issues in many programs. Resetting scaling to 100% solves these text and fonts issues.
You can reset DPI scaling using display settings.
Right-click on Desktop and select “Display settings” option. It’ll open Display Settings app.
Now under “Scale and layout” section, select “100% (Recommended)” option from the drop-down box.
METHOD 2: Disable Hardware Acceleration Feature in Google Chrome
Many times hardware acceleration feature may also cause weird text and fonts issues in web browsers. Turning off hardware acceleration sometimes fixes the issue.
Open Google Chrome web browser and click on Control button -> Settings option. Alternatively, you can directly open the Settings page by typing chrome://settings/ in Chrome address bar.
Scroll down to bottom and click on “Show advanced settings.
Again scroll down to bottom and you’ll see “Use hardware acceleration when available” option present under “System” section. Disable the option and restart Chrome.
METHOD 3: Restore Classic UI and Theme
The text and fonts display issue might be caused by the new Material Design Refresh UI introduced in newer versions of Google Chrome.
Open Google Chrome web browser and type chrome://flags/ in addressbar and press Enter. It’ll open the advanced configuration page. Now type material in the “Search flags” box.
To restore classic theme and UI, select “Normal” option from the drop-down box.
